The MSD6A801-BD is a highly integrated, high performance SoC for cable, satellite, terrestrial, and IP client
high-definition STB (Set-Top Box) applications with traditional software conditional access (CA). It is configured
with a DVB-C demodulator with dual tuner input, two transport stream processors with traditional software CA
system, dual smartcard interfaces, a multi-format audio, and dual video decoder which is capable of decoding
MPEG-1/2/4, H.264 (ISO/IEC 14496-10), VC-1, AVS, RealMedia formats, embedded one 2D and one 3D graphic
engine, and video encoder which is capable of encoding H.264 format. It has a digital video encoder of
supporting CVBS, S-Video, YPbPr SD, and HD output with PIP of different contents. For HD digital output, the
MSD6A801-BD also has a built-in HDMI 1.4 transmitter and have a HDMI 1.4 one-port receiver for HD digital
input.
It can fulfill the requirements from different traditional software CA and DRM systems.
