Display board diagram of the digital car key solution based on NXP products
This solution is mainly divided into 5 parts, namely: key terminal, body anchor point, in-car anchor point, base station Bluetooth and BCM. Among them, the key terminal consists of BLE KW38 + UWB NCJ29D5. NCJ29D5 is the first product in NXP’s new generation of ultra-wideband (UWB) IC series, designed to meet the connectivity and functional safety needs of the global automotive industry. UWB IC allows the car to accurately identify the user's location, and the positioning error is accurate to the centimeter level. This provides smartphone-based car access technology with the same convenience as a state-of-the-art key fob. Users can open and start their cars with their phones in their pockets or bags, and enjoy secure remote parking services via their smartphones. In addition, the new UWB IC minimizes the risk of car theft via relay attacks.

In terms of performance, NCJ29D5 complies with the IEEE 802.15.4 HRP UWB PHY standard, is able to operate in the high frequency band from 6.5 GHz to 8.0 GHz (AES-128 and AES-256), and has excellent anti-interference capabilities. In terms of design, the device uses ARM® Cortex-M33 32-bit processor, based on ARM® AHB-Lite bus matrix and dual-master NS-DMA design, which can achieve fast data transmission. Not only that, NCJ29D5 also has ultra-low power consumption, Hard Power Down State can reach nA level, and has a built-in configurable current limiter, which can be used in button battery-powered applications.
